Ik vind de combinatie van patchwork en borduren erg mooi. In Spanje kocht ik ooit een handwerk-tijdschrift met een mooi borduurpatroon van een alfabet. De teltekening was gemakkelijk te volgen, maar nadat ik 'm af had vond ik het eigenlijk jammer dat ik precies iets namaakte wat een ander bedacht had. Na een paar dagen buikpijn heb ik de schaar gepakt, alle letters uitgeknipt en op een lapje stof genaaid. Dat heb ik gecombineerd met courthouse-steps blokken in een bijpassende stof en toen was het van "mezelf".
I like the combination of patchwork and embroidery. In Spain I once bought a craft magazine with a beautiful alphabet pattern. I could easily follow the instructions, but after finalization, I thought I could do better than exactly reproducing somebody else's pattern. After a few days of thinking it over, I took a pair of scissors, cut out all the letters, and stitched them on a piece of fabric. I combined them with courthouse steps blocks in a matching fabric, and then it was “my own”.
